Finance Operations Manager

Overview

Clay County Habitat for Humanity is seeking a Finance Operations Manager to supervise daily financial activities and internal administrative operations. This pivotal role supports accurate financial reporting, ensures regulatory compliance, and strengthens organizational infrastructure. The Executive Director remains responsible for budgeting and financial strategy; this position focuses on execution, reporting accuracy, and operational oversight. We partner with families and the community to develop affordable housing solutions that promote stability and self-reliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
• Maintain the general ledger and perform monthly reconciliations
• Process payroll and maintain payroll records
• Track restricted funds and grant expenditures
• Prepare monthly financial statements for review by the Executive Director
• Assist with audit preparation and Form 990 coordination
• Monitor construction draws and loan-related disbursements
• Maintain internal financial controls

Compliance & Administration

• Monitor grant compliance and reporting deadlines
• Maintain insurance policies and corporate filings
• Support HR documentation and onboarding processes
• Maintain vendor contracts and administrative systems

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification is a plus
• 2-5 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
• Prior experience in a non-profit organization or a similar role is desirable
• Experience with restricted funds and grant tracking
• Strong knowledge of accounting software (QuickBooks or similar)
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Experience with accounting and financial reporting to ensure compliance and accuracy
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across teams

• Salary: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
