Overview
New York Life offers an Accelerated Path to Management Program that blends early hands-on experience as a financial professional with a structured fast track into leadership. Participants receive training in essential skills such as marketing, business development, and client relationship management, along with access to the tools needed to advance toward a management role.
What we are looking for
- Individuals who want to make a lasting impact on the financial well being of individuals, families, and small businesses
- At least 2 years of managerial experience in a previous role
- Experience running your own business
- An MBA or an equivalent degree
Program Phases
- Phase 1: Start as a Financial Advisor
- Gain firsthand exposure to the daily responsibilities of a financial professional during the first year, with comprehensive training, access to digital tools, and a full product suite
- Training and resources: extensive instruction on the value of New York Life, plus ready access to sales, prospecting, and marketing tools, including web, social, and email content
- Product Solutions: learn about the range of life insurance, annuities, long-term care, disability income, and investment products offered through NYLIFE Securities LLC, a FINRA and SIPC member and Licensed Insurance Agency; securities licenses and FINRA registrations are required to offer investment products
- Phase 2: Transition to Associate Partner
- After meeting specific milestones in the first 12 months as a financial professional, enter a six-month Associate Partner training program to develop leadership and team-building capabilities
- Ongoing opportunities for career progression, with potential promotions to increasingly senior management levels
Compensation and Benefits
Initial earning potential for new financial professionals is commission-based. For details on commission-based income and related benefits, visit the company information page at the careers site. If you qualify to move into the Associate Partner role, a salary will be offered. The average salary for an Associate Partner is $150,000, with eligibility for bonuses and other incentives tied to unit performance and the impact of recruited and developed agents, referred to as R&Ds. R&Ds provide additional compensation to boost income and cover certain unreimbursed expenses.
Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, long-term disability, accidental death and dismemberment coverage, a pension plan, and a 401(k) savings plan. Compensation for field managers is closely linked to recruiting performance and the production level of their team. In 2024, the average income across 617 recruiters at all levels was $285,000.
